Food verus Vibe - Arnolds (28/01/2011)

Went out to a rather forgettable dinner last night - Not sure what it was but something was a little off.. Maybe me or maybe it was the food?

I don’t know about you but the type of place I enjoy spending my time sells something a little more than food. Well yes I know it’s a restaurant but is it?

My ribs were very expensive (R110 for 450g to 500g) but not very good. Give me a juicy succulent rib any day over a dry slightly boring rib. What’s the point of a finger bowl if you can’t get your hands wet and dripping with sauce!

                     

Well if I cant have good food I expect the service to be special. Maybe take some time to interact and have some fun with me. If I complain the portion is small maybe humour me and pretend you actually care. Yes I know it was late (around 11) but hello we are in Cape Town and yes the R50 tip you get means you need to interact with me. Perhaps the idea was to complement the dry ribs with a dry sense of humour. Doesn’t really work for me….

I am currently on a soup diet so dammmmmit when I decide to have a bar one cheese cake make it a big portion or at least your normal portion. Why is mug and bean still around (ask the ladies) YES it’s the size of the portion! And once again humour me yes SIZE DOES COUNT

So all in all not the best meal I have ever had BUT given that I have had many many good meals there I WILL BE BACK.. not Arni ME…
